John Bead Corp is proud to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with their own contribution to the many events and activities planned for 2017.

Our company commissioned the Canada Day beaded bead so that beaders around the world could create their own memento to celebrate with us.  The designer of this special bead, is Canadian beader extraordinaire Debra Schwartz

We approached Debra earlier this year after reviewing many of her online tutorials.  We challenged her with our desire to have a unique bead and sent her a box of red and white beads to work with.  We also asked Debra to allow us to make this beaded bead one that anyone could use as many times as they liked.*

This project was to be our gift to our customers, friends and fellow beaders.  However, Debra did something we did not expect.  She gifted us with the pattern and therefore all of you with the project.  She refused compensation for her work.  Not only did she design a stunning bead, but she also created a step-by-step that will allow both the beginner and intermediate beader to create their own Canada Day bead.  We are honored and grateful to her for this gift.

So on behalf of our company and our generous designer Debra Schwartz happy 150th Canada!

P.S.  If you do make and post images of beads you make with this design, we would truly appreciate you giving credit to our company and Debra Schwartz as a courtesy.  We’ll share your posts too!

The 150th anniversary of Canada, also known as the 150th anniversary of Confederation and promoted by the Canadian government as Canada 150, occurs in 2017 as Canada marks the sesquicentennial anniversary of Canadian Confederation.
