I made a second blue and silver toned kumihimo necklace so that now it looks so much better with my glass star pendant!  What do you think?

The first one just didn’t work.  The blue was too strong.

A new braided necklace took me under an hour to make.  I knew it would be worth my time and indeed, educational for me to have a “do-over.”  I used the circle disk again with the addition of a new cord.

Being able to colour match means that I will have a necklace or bracelet that works with any component I already have in my stash.  If I had the aqua blue rattail I would have made one of the strands that colour.  Since I didn’t, I needed to come up with an addition that would make this pendant look better on the braid.

This time I took the silver and blue rattail and added some interesting gold knitting yarn!  The results are amazing and the braid looks very soft now. That’s what I’m loving about Kumihimo braided , you really can you any type of stringing material. John Bead also has amazing line of stringing material ideal for braiding. Ideally, I would have every single colour of rattail right here in my studio….but in the interest of space and $$ I think it was a great idea to add in some fibers that I already have.  Kumihimo braiding is going to get better and better as I experiment with different thicknesses, add ins and shapes!

Ahh.  I want it all!

The other great news is the Kumihimo disks and plates are
