This is the NINE DROPS necklace by Fernando Dasilva.

Fernando has created many pieces of jewelry which are displayed in the John Bead showroom.  Some of these designs appear in our catalogues and may have been published.  For those of you who can’t visit in person we will have a regular post on this blog giving you a closer look at the finished jewelry.  Fernando has written all the instructions and is sharing them with you. Instructions:

1.  Feed one large silver/pink metallic bead onto an eye pin and make a simple loop at the opposite end. Trim excess wire. Make a second one of this and set aside.

2. Feed one 17x17mm silver/pink metallic bead onto an eye pin, make a simple loop at the opposite end. Trim excess wire. Make a second of this and set aside.

3. Feed one 19mm circle bead onto an eye pin, make a simple loop at the opposite end and trim excess wire. Make a second one of this and set aside.

4. Split links made on previous steps in 2 groups, each with only one of each style of bead.

5. Use one oval jump ring to attach large bead to a 17x17mm bead – just slightly open one of the eye pin loops and add jump ring to it. Open opposite eye in of square bead and add a second oval jump ring and attach one circle bead on same fashion. You must end up with 3 links of beads attached to each other. (look at the image for guidance).

6. Feed one 8mm olivine crystal bead onto an eye pin, thread through large and square beads of previous attached section and then add one 8mm jonquil crystal bead. Make a simple loop at the opposite end of eye pin and then trim excess wire.

7. Repeat last step using one 6mm olivine crystal bead and one 6mm jonquil crystal bead. Place them on same fashion between square bead and circle bead. Switch colors positions to make it more interesting.

8. Open one oval jump ring, slide three 18 ½ inches pre-cut pieces of dark chain onto it and then add to eye pin loop of large metallic bead and then close it carefully.

9. Add another groups of 3 pre-cut pieces of chain using a second oval jump ring and then attach to previous jump ring.

10. Add third group of 3 pre-cut chains onto another oval jump ring and then add to previous jump ring attached on step 9.

11. Open one oval jump ring and attach group of three 7 inches pre-cut lengths of same chain onto eye pin loop of circle metallic bead and then close it carefully.

12. Attach symmetrically the opposite end of each strand of chain to other section of beaded links from step 4 on same fashion. Your necklace is almost ready.

13. Randomly place 9 Indian pink crystal briolette pendants on bottom and longest portion of your necklace. Use a jump ring with each crystal to attach it securing to two strand of chain at a time. You can use image for guidance or create your own crystallized section.

14. For final and extra sassiness add one silver plated end drop to each of the eye pin loops of the crystal bicone sections. Again use image for guidance.

Voila! Enjoy your necklace.

* You can adjust length according to the neckline of your top. It can goes well with a cocktail dress as well with jeans and tee.

** If you are not a big fan of crystals, drop the briolette pendants and stick with only metallic beads but in this case give priority to a small size.
