The Latest from John Bead – New Leather Sheets, Tools, Snaps and Rivets

Our Leather Works program has grown to include several new and much loved tools for leather crafting enthusiasts. We have a new Stitching and Lacing Pony, Rivet and Snap Setters, Edge Slickers and new Stitching Awl Bobbin replacements.

We know you will love our new selection of  8 x10 soft leather sheets.  The rich range of colours will result in gorgeous finished leather projects.

We also have new snaps, double cap and rapid rivets in several sizes.

Leather Crafting For the Catwalk – Post Two

This leather collar necklace is from a collection Fernando DaSilva designed in 2014.

They were crafted as one of a kind jewelry for the “Goddesses and Gladiators” runway show in the United Kingdom.

  

You can see how wonderful this leather necklace looks on our model in these photos.

She is also carrying a clutch that Fernando designed and taught as a Leather Crafting class in the fall of 2014.

We’ll continue to feature this collection as inspiration on this blog next week.

Leather Crafting For the Catwalk – Post One

These leather jewels were created by hand by Fernando DaSilva for the “Goddesses and Gladiators” runway show in the United Kingdom last year.

We’ll post several more featured designs over the next few days.

  

On the runway, this set clearly stood out.

The earrings showcase many of the leather crafting techniques Fernando has been sharing as part of our Leather Works program.

The leather was coloured, distressed and shaped using tools in our collection.
