About John Bead
John Bead Corporation has been sourcing and distributing beads from around the world for over sixty years. We think it is high time we had our own bead. The “John” bead.
“John” is our company’s family name and we’d like to honour our founders by producing a bead in a unique new shape.
We put the name “John” in parentheses because we do not know what the bead will be named. We believe the shape or the designer will influence that as well.
Contest Idea
Do you have an idea for a new bead?
If you do, and have a dream to see your concept turned into a bead, which gets produced and used by beaders around the world, we would love to see your ideas.
Contest opens April 10th, 2017 and closes July 31, 2017.

1st Prize is $1,000*
(or a $1,000 shopping spree on our wholesale website)

An all expense paid trip to an international tradeshow where you will be able to demonstrate your bead design in our show booth.
Plus
A credit to you will appear in three full page magazine advertisements featuring your bead.

We will hire you to create project sheets for the new bead.

We will provide you with several sets of your bead in all the colours it is manufactured in.
2nd Prize
is a $500 shopping spree on our wholesale website.

is a $250 shopping spree on our wholesale website.

Qualifying for Our Contest
We would like to keep this entry as simple and straightforward as possible. All concepts must be submitted via email to [email protected] by July 31st, 2017. Submissions without the entire Entry Form Agreement completed will be disqualified.
Tips
Make sure you have reviewed our criteria for entry and be sure to cut and paste your entry form content in your emailed submission.
Attach no more than four images to your email submission.
You may enter more than once, but you must submit separate bead design submissions.
Contest open to anyone in the world with an original bead concept.
Winners will be notified once John Bead Corp has completed all necessary legal reviews. We would like to make the formal announcement in September 2017.

Your emailed submission must include:
Describe for us the bead shape, whether it is flat, curved etc.
Describe for us the placement of the hole or holes.
Describe for us why this bead is unique.
Describe for us how you came to this original idea.
Please submit a JPEG image/sketch (does not have to be computer generated) of your bead design.
Submit a minimum of one JPEG image/sketch showing us how the bead would be used to create a piece of jewelry or as a component in a beading project.
Be sure to include the entry Form content below in the email.
