Last year, our company launched “The Search for The Next Great Bead.” We wanted to manufacture a product that was designed by someone who loved beads.
Happily, we received a wonderful submission from Lena Gillespie.

The shaped bead she submitted is considered a Rhombus;
a parallelogram with opposite equal acute angles, opposite equal obtuse angles and four equal sides.
Her sizing was much bigger than a regular seed bead and to show us how her bead would work she submitted “larger than life” foam core versions so we could actually play with them like a puzzle.
She also submitted some truly wonderful sketches showing the bead in use. As you can see, her design idea has been realized.

We believe that new beaders will enjoy working with this bead because they will be able to complete a project quickly. Skilled beaders will find new ways to incorporate this bead with smaller beads for fantastic new patterns.

While we love the simplicity of the beads side by side,
we also love how one single bead can make its own impact
in a wired ring or strung on a thin choker.

fantastic bead!
