I thought I would “wrap up” my second wire work week with an idea for a tree ornament. This new gold and red ornament will hang with pride on my tree this year!
While reading and researching wire wrapping techniques I found myself on the Wig Jig website. I used the Wigjig in a blog post yesterday and was really pleased with my first time efforts! Their website is packed with ideas and how-tos!
This Victorian Christmas ornament really caught my eye. It inspired me to create my own version of a swirly ornament using 3 wires.
Choosing my wire colour was difficult. The Dazzle-it wire line at John Bead is huge! I selected the 12ga gold wire for the body and the 18ga red wire for the decorative wrapping.
This ornament took only a few minutes to twist!
I added the red wire to act as an extra stabilizer and to add a little more colour to my design.
18ga wire is a joy to work with! It is super soft!
TaDa! Now, imagine this idea for other shapes and holidays! It’s not just a Christmas concept!
great design, can;t wait to play!!
