Our previously private two-hour premium class for Michaels is now available for everyone to watch!
This workshop shows you how to make a twisted rope using a technique called Peyote with a Twist. It was originally created by Gerlinde Lenz and builds a rope that feels like bead crochet or kumihimo but is stitched, not braided.
You’ll learn how to begin the twist using two colors of size 8 Czech seed beads and how to keep it going with a simple pattern. The design is stitched from both sides of the thread, which means fewer knots and less stopping.
The project ends with a taper made from smaller 10/0 beads so you can attach a clasp. You’ll make either a bracelet or a necklace and pick up a method that’s easy to repeat with new colors and bead sizes.
The class is for intermediate beaders and includes tips for adding thread and shaping the ends.
